The scenery I see in my daily life has changed dramatically, with people rushing to the station and rows of buildings replaced by farmland and birds. Plants are good at telling me the season. German irises blooming on the wildsides stand out strikingly against the pale Japanese landscape, and when they grow next to leeks and peas, they even look comical.
