They seemed cold too, curled up basking in the sun. I couldn't help wanting to see them swimming, but they have their own reasons. Every form holds a story and meaning. Their adorable sight, warmly enduring the cold winter, warms our hearts too. Location: Kakegawa Kacho-en (Shizuoka) ●店主より 作家は自然にいる檻越しではない動物の姿を求め国内外問わず取材を重ねている。その姿勢が動物の手触りや体温まで感じられるような作品を生み出している。 太古より人と動物は密接に関わっており、ラスコー洞窟の壁画のモチーフは人物や風景ではなく牛、イノシシ、馬など動物が多数を占める。 そこから脈々と続いてきた動物をモチーフとした絵画の世界。　彼女はその現代の担い手として、生き物への愛と確かなデッサン力を通じ生命に満ち溢れた世界を表現している。 ●Comment from the gallery The artist has been making sketches of animals both in Japan and abroad in search of animals in their natural habitat that are not in cages. This approach has produced works that allow the viewer to feel the touch and body temperature of the animals. Since ancient times, people and animals have been closely connected, and the motifs of the wall paintings in the Lascaux Caves are not people or landscapes, but animals, such as cows, boars, and horses, which make up the majority of motifs. The world of paintings with animal motifs has continued from that time.　As a contemporary bearer of this tradition, she expresses a world full of life through her love for living creatures and her solid drawing skills.
